Homemade Products

>> Sunday, January 10, 2010

Over the past few years, I have been trying very hard to be more efficient in my usage of all products. At first it was to save money and although there still is a degree of economic reasons why I make homemade products the real reasons have become more apparent as I have gotten better at making them. I like making my own products. I like knowing what is in the products. I like saving the environment, my budget and getting the self satisfaction of knowing I can make something that is helpful, and better for my family.

This year as I go further into making my own products I will experiment and share the recipes and ideas with you. Some will turn out great, others won't but that is OK because that is how I figure out what works for my family. So far in my house I make several things that have been a wealth of benefits to my family.

-laundry soap, cleaning products
-broths, soups, puree pumpkin, frozen meats, fruit, meals, desserts, veggies
-mulch, gardening,

These things have been staples for the past six months or longer. Come along with me as I delve into the world of homemade this year and see what I can come up with to save money and help my family become more self sufficient.
