Lasagna Garden update

>> Tuesday, July 14, 2009

I went out tonight and did a little cleaning up in the garden. It didn't take long and I was happy to get a sprig of broccoli and two cucs. I have a zuc that should be ready in a few days. I would take a picture but my camera seems to be messing up lately.

I yanked out the poor lettuce that never got properly used and a few other plants that were not doing well went with it. I am going to have some good tomatoes that is for sure.

I love the lasagna method. The weeds come out so easily (what there are of them) and the I just love how much everything grows. I am definitely planning on using this method next year and I plan to expand. However I plan on being a little more careful about what I plant because I have to be more realistic in what I will use. Although lettuce is great, cheap and easy, I never picked it and it got wasted. I don't want to waste.

I did a "so-so" job with my lasagna garden this year - but I do have to say - there are hardly any weeds in my garden, and like you - the ones that do sprout up just get yanked like nothing! Thanks!

Yes, we have lettuce for a family of 100 and hardly no one eats it. Sorry to say you can't freeze it either!

It is so nice just to go outside and pick a few things that we "made". Den and I trimmed some of the herbs to give away because they were starting to take over.
